The Subscription System I Didn’t Build
/ Programming, Blog, WebsitesJoin our free newsletter on Patreon for updates & behind-the-scenes →I caught myself going down the developer rabbit hole recently. I was seriously considering building a custom email subscription service from scratch, probably written in Go or Rust, just so readers could get notified whenever a new post drops.
It sounded like a fun weekend project until reality hit me. I’m already using a platform that handles this natively, reliably, and for free: Patreon.
Why reinvent the wheel when the infrastructure is already sitting right there?
If you want to get notified the second a new post goes live, you can follow along over on my Patreon. Joining is completely free, takes about ten seconds, and saves me from having to maintain yet another bespoke microservice.
