The Subscription System I Didn’t Build

I caught myself going down the developer rabbit hole recently. I was seriously considering building a custom email subscription service from scratch, probably written in Go or Rust, just so readers could get notified whenever a new post drops.

It sounded like a fun weekend project until reality hit me. I’m already using a platform that handles this natively, reliably, and for free: Patreon.

Why reinvent the wheel when the infrastructure is already sitting right there?
